Having gained a number of years of experience in publishing and digital marketing in Cape Town, South Africa, I moved to Amsterdam in September 2017 and joined the communications team at Metabolic - a growing company with an ambitious mission to transition the global economy to a fundamentally sustainable and circular state.

Here I was exposed to science- and data-driven sustainability strategy, and the critical importance of a systems thinking approach when tackling any complex sustainability challenge. I learned volumes about breaking down the complexities involved in communicating about systems change and the circular economy, and activating people to new ways of thinking. Now consulting in a freelance capacity, I am thrilled to share my comms toolbox and experience with other mission-driven organizations.

As the daughter of a wildlife filmmaker, the first three years of my life were spent living in a tent in the Okavango Delta. Many trips to Southern Africa's wild places followed, giving me a good understanding of the massive challenges facing African wildlife as well as our planet as a whole. Borne out of this, the concepts of sustainable development - and sustainable lifestyle on an individual level - are key to the way in which I live my life and the work that I do.
